Hand forged after drop forged 12″ English style carbon steel slicer with pinned hardwood ebony handle scales made for the Henry Sears & Sons company likely by Lamson & Goodnow of Massachusetts.
Blade has classic English profile with the nearly clip point bullnose tip and the short birdshead saber grip pommel. With the solid one piece integral bolster/ferrule it is likely 1920s as opposed to earlier narrow bolster/ferrule ring construction.
Blade had been sharpened in a bit and has been thinned behind the edge for smoother cutting and easer sharpening. Handle is secure. Freshly sharpened.
