Early Art Deco design German carving set with forged carbon steel blade and fork with German hallmark crown and crescent moon silver marks with 800 for the purity of the steel (80%).
This set had seen some rust which has been cleaned, fork has a slightly bent tine, the blade is very full however and sharp. Handles have an LM monogram and some small dings, still an attractive and totally useful set.
The blade/tines and handles are held together with old style cutlers cement or rozzil a mixture of beeswax, rosin and brick dust. It is a hard cement at room temperature but will melt at high temperatures, DO NOT PUT THESE IN THE DISHWASHER, or use them to roast mini marshmallows.
