extra fine ceramic alumina approx 10,000 grit to 40,000 grit mix ceramic alumina for extra fine finish polishing. This is designed for razors or other tools which demand excessively fine finishes and is generally not recommended for knives although it is great for yanagi and usuba.
This strop material holds fine compounds very very well. We have found it to be an excellent material for the finer compounds we use. There is a minimum of compound loss through flaking or powdering off and it provides an abrasive rich surface with very little give that aids in making flat, fine finished edges.
These are less than .8mm thick making for very little give but with a soft, smooth draw. These have a rubber backing making for a grippy surface on the underside.
